These terms govern your use of the AcoustiSlat website and any quotation we issue through it. AcoustiSlat is a brand of OWA Ceiling Systems Cape and OWA Southern Africa ("OWA South Africa", "we", "us"), 76 Gunners Circle, Epping 1, Cape Town, 7460. By using this website you agree to these terms.
1. This website does not sell online
AcoustiSlat is an enquiry website. Nothing on it is an offer to sell. Product information, prices and the coverage calculator are provided so you can plan a project and ask us for a quote. Submitting a quote request does not create a contract, reserve stock, or oblige either of us to anything.
2. Prices and estimates
Prices shown on this website are indicative and quoted in South African Rand.
- The AcoustiSlat natural wood-look slatted panel is from R2 150 per panel (VAT Incl.), based on a panel size of 2790 × 600mm covering 1.674m². Pricing is region dependent, so contact your nearest branch for a formal quotation.
- Delivery is not included in that price. We ship nationwide across South Africa and the delivery fee is quoted separately, case by case, based on your location and order size.
- The panel calculator returns a quantity only, not a price. For a wall over 2790mm high and for ceilings, boards are joined in their length and the figure makes no allowance for cutting waste.
- Prices may change without notice. Only a written quotation issued by our sales team is binding, and then only for the validity period stated on it.
3. Quotations
When you submit a quote request, a specialist will contact you, normally within one business day, to confirm your requirements and issue a written quotation. A quotation is valid for the period stated on it and is subject to stock availability at the time you accept it. Orders, payment and delivery are handled directly with our sales team, outside this website, and are governed by the terms set out on the quotation and invoice.
4. 2-year warranty
We warrant all AcoustiSlat products for two (2) years from the date of delivery.
What is covered
- Delamination or separation of the slats from the polyester fibre acoustic backing.
- Warping, splitting or twisting of panels under normal indoor conditions.
- Finish defects (flaking, peeling or blistering) present at delivery or arising from a manufacturing fault.
- Panels that do not conform to the specification stated on your quotation.
What is not covered
- Damage from installation that does not follow our installation guide, including installation outdoors or in unventilated wet areas.
- Exposure to sustained damp, direct water contact, or relative humidity persistently outside 40% to 70%.
- Normal variation in the wood-look finish. Tone and grain pattern may differ slightly between panels and between production batches, and are a characteristic of the product rather than a defect.
- Gradual colour change from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
- Accidental damage, impact, abrasion, misuse, or damage during customer-arranged transport.
- Modification of the panels, including cutting, re-finishing or re-coating.
- Ordinary wear and tear.
Making a claim
Tell us within 30 days of noticing the problem. Call 021 531 7511 or contact the branch that supplied you, quoting your invoice number, and send photographs of the affected panels in place. We may ask to inspect the installation. Where a claim is valid, we will at our election repair or replace the affected panels, or credit the price you paid for them. Replacement panels carry the balance of the original 2-year period.
This warranty is in addition to, and does not limit, your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.
5. Product information and colour
We take care to describe our panels accurately, but on-screen swatches and photographs are representations. Screens vary, and finishes vary slightly between batches. If exact colour matters to your project, ask us for a physical sample before you commit.
6. Acoustic performance
The stated sound absorption value of up to αw = 0.95 is a laboratory measurement obtained under European standard test conditions, and an acoustic test report is available on request. Real-world results depend on room layout, product coverage and installation method. AcoustiSlat panels absorb sound within a room; they are not a soundproofing barrier and will not prevent sound passing between rooms. We do not warrant that any specific acoustic outcome will be achieved in your space.
7. Use of this website
You may use this website for your own project research and to request a quote. You may not use it to submit false or misleading information, to submit automated or bulk requests, to attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of it, or to interfere with its operation. We may block or refuse service to anyone who does.
8. Intellectual property
All content on this website (text, photographs, graphics, layout and code) belongs to OWA South Africa or its licensors. You may not reproduce, republish or use it commercially without our written permission.
9. Liability
We provide this website "as is". While we work to keep it accurate and available, we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the information on it is complete or current.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this website or reliance on information provided through it. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. In particular, nothing here limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.
10. Privacy
Our handling of your personal information is described in our Privacy Policy and our use of cookies in our Cookie Policy.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
12. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page when you submit a quote request is the version that applies to that request.
