Privacy Policy
AcoustiSlat is a brand of OWA South Africa. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use this website or request a quote, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We handle personal information in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
1. Who we are
The responsible parties for the information described here are OWA Ceiling Systems Cape and OWA Ceiling Systems Southern Africa. You can reach us on 021 531 7511, through our contact page or at our quote request form.
2. What we collect
When you request a quote
We ask for the information we need to prepare a quote and get back to you:
- Your name, so we know who we're speaking to.
- Your email address, so we can send you the quote.
- Your phone number, so a specialist can call you.
- Your nearest branch, so the request reaches the right team.
- The finishes and panel quantities you're interested in, and, if you used the coverage calculator, the wall dimensions you entered.
Automatically, when you browse
Our servers record technical information with each quote submission: the page you submitted from, the referring page, your browser's user-agent string and language, and a one-way hash of your IP address. We hash the IP rather than storing it because we only need it to detect abuse, never to identify you.
If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects usage information about your visit. Nothing analytics-related loads until you accept. See our Cookie Policy.
What we do not collect
We do not take payments on this website, so we never ask for and never hold card, bank or other payment details. We do not sell anything online, and we do not have customer accounts.
3. Why we use it, and on what basis

We do not use your details for marketing unless you separately ask us to, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
4. Who we share it with
Your quote request is visible to AcoustiSlat and OWA South Africa staff who handle enquiries. Beyond that, we rely on a small number of service providers who process information on our behalf under contract:
- Google Cloud / Firebase: website hosting, the database that stores quote requests, and staff authentication.
- Our email delivery provider: sends the internal notification containing your request to our sales team.
- Google Analytics: only if you accept analytics cookies.
Some of these providers process information outside South Africa. Where that happens, we rely on providers who are subject to laws or binding agreements that give your information a level of protection substantially similar to POPIA.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.
5. How long we keep it
We keep quote requests for three years from the date of your enquiry, so we can honour quotes, answer follow-up questions and meet our record-keeping obligations. Abuse-prevention records (hashed IP counters) are kept for 24 hours. Analytics data is retained according to the settings in our Google Analytics property.
6. Your rights
Under POPIA you have the right to:
- ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy of it;
- ask us to correct or complete information that is inaccurate;
- ask us to delete information we no longer have grounds to keep;
- object to our processing of your information on legitimate-interest grounds;
- withdraw your consent to analytics cookies at any time (see our Cookie Policy).

7. How we protect it
Quote requests are transmitted over HTTPS and stored in an access-controlled database. Staff sign in with their own individual accounts, and staff can only read enquiry records. They cannot alter the details you submitted. We keep an audit trail of who viewed and actioned each enquiry.
8. Children
This website is aimed at adults specifying building products. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be flagged on the website.
